<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">We're proud to announce today that former Green Party PRC candidate Rick Lass has officially endorsed Bob Walsh's Campaign for Good Government. As many of you know, Rick Lass is a leader in progressive and green politics in Santa Fe and a strong voice for honest government.</span><br />

This weekend, State Representative candidate Bob Walsh visited with local artists exhibiting at the 59th Annual Spanish Market on the plaza in Santa Fe, where he listened to concerns about the challenges of living and working as an artist in Santa Fe.<br />
<br />
Most of all realize that that Santa Fe is a special place in large part because of the diverse group of artists, writers and other creative people who call the City Different home. But the economy, the mismanagement of our state budget and the local business climate is making it increasingly difficult for artists to live here -- and that makes Santa Fe less livable, less prosperous and less "different" for all of us.Bob Walsh Campaign Teamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01100035193364132220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461523603806432623.post-44329661653768564492010-07-10T23:42:00.001-06:002010-07-10T23:43:19.221-06:00Supporting our firefighters<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0FVGiwjzL6wVN9P2O4xAU5rFAaJK9KWUwyYES_531ghEqxf8gJXf9Cq-UIoFk1AwnrV_0AMaXu6z15oWcMhxVrzTzYTRFIKYBstyXvyrdVAxtsn29lJ38rXJm5rUBdL9UXmqql0zNaGtK/s1600/fireday_web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0FVGiwjzL6wVN9P2O4xAU5rFAaJK9KWUwyYES_531ghEqxf8gJXf9Cq-UIoFk1AwnrV_0AMaXu6z15oWcMhxVrzTzYTRFIKYBstyXvyrdVAxtsn29lJ38rXJm5rUBdL9UXmqql0zNaGtK/s400/fireday_web.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
State Representative candidate Bob Walsh talks with a member of the Santa Fe Fire Department at Family Fun Day.<br />
<br />
Like many working people all over the state, the firefighters expressed concerns about the raising of the retirement age for PERA workers, as well as the difficulties in getting much-needed grant money to purchase equipment and fund firefighting efforts.<br />
<br />
With regard to raising the retirement age, we must find ways of balancing the budget that honor our existing contracts. "Changing the retirement age for existing workers isn't fair to people," Bob points out. "It's changing the rules in the middle of the game, and that's not something we should be doing."Bob Walsh Campaign Teamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01100035193364132220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461523603806432623.post-3142267783756694262010-07-09T21:32:00.001-06:002010-07-09T22:54:05.138-06:00Bob Walsh at the Legislature<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCV-qSN0-dfol1Y43W8aJSAlpzmWhyphenhyphenbAFtqcsFr8fB9zn1I6xZHI3Tr0czrejJ1cY1bHiIui6hMfr2nFoStrOaO6DLc_5Vobc708fneAjAeH2XharzE0lO1a-XkDCfhFZ-98cI9-FfF9wl/s1600/act_web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCV-qSN0-dfol1Y43W8aJSAlpzmWhyphenhyphenbAFtqcsFr8fB9zn1I6xZHI3Tr0czrejJ1cY1bHiIui6hMfr2nFoStrOaO6DLc_5Vobc708fneAjAeH2XharzE0lO1a-XkDCfhFZ-98cI9-FfF9wl/s400/act_web.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
In addition to attending community events and listening to voters' concerns about state government, State Representative candidate Bob Walsh also regularly attends New Mexico House of Representatives committee meetings as part of his role as a citizen activist and future legislator.<br />
<br />
A long-time leader in state election reform (Bob was a leader in making paper ballots mandatory), Bob attends meetings of the Voters & Elections Committee. Concerned about how our tax dollars are spent (or misspent), he also attends meetings of the Revenue Stabilization & Tax Policy Committee, the Investments Oversight Committee and Government Restructuring Task Force.<br />
<br />
"Most of these committee meetings are open to the public, both in person and on the web," Bob points out. "I encourage all of us to attend the ones on issues we care about and to become active in shaping policy -- change happens most dramatically at the state and local levels!"Bob Walsh Campaign Teamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01100035193364132220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461523603806432623.post-35194735045369704732010-07-04T19:00:00.000-06:002010-07-04T19:00:14.451-06:00Pancakes on the Fourth!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLMgiXLyy6JB-90OFS0i4RYih1UN0UQnhpThgyBCk3VdLwW11RK_LiRY5AB8CDsP-DIYGTaNFm1C3QdXa1YVy8VqFDj3OCZUxSoMlaYXLW2vmTCr-UbuizIe2aQc_nOYflkvXzpR4uYqGS/s1600/July43_web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLMgiXLyy6JB-90OFS0i4RYih1UN0UQnhpThgyBCk3VdLwW11RK_LiRY5AB8CDsP-DIYGTaNFm1C3QdXa1YVy8VqFDj3OCZUxSoMlaYXLW2vmTCr-UbuizIe2aQc_nOYflkvXzpR4uYqGS/s400/July43_web.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Bob Walsh celebrated the Fourth of July at Pancakes on the Plaza, our annual celebration of community and, of course, pancakes.<br />
<br />
July 4th is a day to celebrate the founding of the great experiment we call America. And while we have come far and have far to go to realize the vision of our Founding Fathers, the diversity and celebration of our differences that Santa Fe strives for is a model for what our state and our country can be -- a place where all people, regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation, can live and prosper without fear of persecution or government intrusion into their private lives.<br />
<br />
So today, while we enjoy fireworks and BBQ, let's celebrate the City Different, the promise of America, and our ongoing national quest for a more perfect union!Bob Walsh Campaign Teamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01100035193364132220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461523603806432623.post-27858577698544712292010-06-27T00:10:00.001-06:002010-06-27T00:14:08.577-06:00Standing up for GBLT Rights<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUN99Dg0_MYWAG9kmSgwy2CgIc6zg1Tt1DsrEAVxwQ8HJEvV2ucd1CifmZlXlAvuNUxS9dMEOQcORN7w0YDoPvMDZQOmBcKZ3oo7KomVb7KouBu3DEC07NPUbOWlmEhiibPI5kZNfaKtA3/s1600/GayPride3_web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUN99Dg0_MYWAG9kmSgwy2CgIc6zg1Tt1DsrEAVxwQ8HJEvV2ucd1CifmZlXlAvuNUxS9dMEOQcORN7w0YDoPvMDZQOmBcKZ3oo7KomVb7KouBu3DEC07NPUbOWlmEhiibPI5kZNfaKtA3/s400/GayPride3_web.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
State Representative candidate Bob Walsh kicked off his weekend with a visit to the Santa Fe Gay Pride Festival at Railyard Park.<br />
<br />
Bob Walsh's Campaign for Good Government focuses on the protection of civil liberties and rights for all people, regardless of their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. "We have to expand our definition of 'family values," Bob says. "I will introduce or support any legislation that creates a broader definition of 'family' and supports full and equal rights for domestic partners."Bob Walsh Campaign Teamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01100035193364132220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461523603806432623.post-52235067356291618442010-06-25T00:10:00.006-06:002010-07-25T16:42:28.299-06:00Welcome to our Campaign for Good Government!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIklrGY1ZFaBdoVIHq6EDyW4fG1OCb0_Rp4ZB39HPJa8FXGF4PMDofjZt74JDwPaiyspTTOMk89C6btJ9gY9ag8qOgLAGjAnxqU8bM1QkJlnqE1j1zJK_SpXqAZfcjZ5qGY9V05oQBwuaA/s1600/GayPride1_web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIklrGY1ZFaBdoVIHq6EDyW4fG1OCb0_Rp4ZB39HPJa8FXGF4PMDofjZt74JDwPaiyspTTOMk89C6btJ9gY9ag8qOgLAGjAnxqU8bM1QkJlnqE1j1zJK_SpXqAZfcjZ5qGY9V05oQBwuaA/s400/GayPride1_web.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
